(Washington, DC) – Funeral services were held Saturday for JaParker Jones, a transgender woman who was murdered earlier this month in Northeast Washington. Police say 55-year-old Gary Montgomery of the District stabbed Jones to death February 2nd at a bus stop on East Capitol Street. Montgomery is being held in jail without bond pending another court hearing. Court documents detail the progression of events leading to Jones’ death, quoting a witness who said the suspect and victim were sitting next to each other at the bus stop and that the suspect followed Jones until the point when the attack happened.
