Wale is scheduled to reopen the Howard Theater on April 9. The event will be marked by a standing room only concert.

Howard Theater, known as  the “Theater of the People” opened in 1910. Known for introducing D.C. audiences to legendary acts including Duke Ellington and Ella Fitzgerald, today the theater boasts a line-up including The Roots, comedian Wanda Sykes, Alice Smith (one of my favs!), Chuck Brown, Meshell Ndegeocello, Bilal, Chaka Khan, Amel Larrieux, Ziggy Marley and Boys II Men.

Tickets for the Wale show go on sale today, here.

Spotted at DC FAB.
