Introduce yourself to the world.

Hello world! My name is Dominique Fox a.k.a Soul Play. I’m an individual artist/songwriter from Maryland. When it comes to my music I love making people laugh, performing & being unique. I’m 22 years old and I’m in college studying Music Tech.

What has been a highlight in your music endeavors so far?

I believe the highlight of my music endeavors is performing at clubs or open mics, and getting positive feedback from fans. I also believe creating my very own website, clothes and buttons is a extreme highlight because it’s a huge form of promoting and It stands out from other artists in the area.

What can people expect from your music?

Listening to my music, you can expect to laugh and learn, and for the delivery to catch your attention. You can also expect for my sound to be quite different from other local artists because when people go right, I like to go left.

Are you looking to sign with a major or indie label?

I’m definitely trying to push myself to the next level to get signed to a major label. I believe I have what it takes because I keep a positive attitude and put my heart into my music.

What are some of your musical influences?

My musical influences come from going what I go through in life that’s hard to express but easier to write. It can come from my everyday emotions to something simple as just listening to a beat I would love to write to. Positive feedback is a crucial influence because it shows I’m reaching out to people and that’s what it’s all about.

When laying down the track in the studio, how do you like your sessions?

Honestly I love my sessions live. I’m very personable and enjoy laughing so as long as I can have a good time and still be in my music mode I’ll be comfortable. It doesn’t really matter how long each session takes because I don’t like rushing art.
