Shocking video footage of Def Jam artist and Chicago-based rapper Lil Reese (pictured) savagely beating a woman has found its way on the internet, MTVreports.

In the leaked footage, Reese is at some kind of social gathering that took an ugly turn. He is seen confronting a young woman, who goes by the name of “Self Made Prodigy.” She is seen requesting that Reese and his entourage leave her home.
The request turns heated and at some point you hear the young woman telling Reese, “They didn’t stop making guns when they made yours.”
The woman’s words apparently set the rapper off because he then began to attack her. The two exchanged blows, but Reese clearly is landing more blows. He then proceeds to punch her with rapid-fire hits around her torso. When the woman drops to the floor, Reese still continues his onslaught of punches and then adds vicious kicks, stomps, even as his victim screams.
The young rapper went to Twitter on Thursday to defend his thuggish actions, blaming unnamed “haters” for the video leak:
“The haters tryna see a mf Dwn lol Dey gotta b broke and bored wanna upload sum sh– from years ago damnn we winnin it’s 2 late…#3hunna,” he wrote. “Dis wat doin betta den da next mf bring small s— it’s nothin time 2 turn Uppp f— it…#3hunna.”
The 22-year-old rapper also contends that the video was shot over a year ago but does not offer any apologies for his violent actions.
Meanwhile, Self Made Prodigy, according to VladTV, has come forth and states that she was the victim of the violent beating incident that happened over a year ago. She now considers the episode “old and dumb” and has allegedly moved on from it but she did have some choice words for her attacker. Read them on the left.
The Lil Reese episode is very reminiscent of the recent Cleveland incident where bus driver Artis Hughes pummeled a 25-year-old female passenger, Shi’ dea N. Lane, on his bus. The violence was also caught on tape and set the internet ablaze with comments from those who were disgusted from the act but also from those who thought the beating was justified because Lane was believed to be the instigator.
Violence is an egregious act, no matter who causes it. There is never a valid reason for striking another person. The situation between Reese and SafeProdigy should never have escalated to such barbaric extremes. Far too many of us have lost sight of the sanctity of human life.
