Trinidad James rolled through the DMV for his ‘Don’t Be S.A.F.E’ tour. Before he hit the stage at The Howard Theatre, I had a chance to chop it up with the Multi-million dollar man that got signed to Def Jam off street anthem, All Gold Everything. Only rapping for a year now, Trinidad James is still learning about the business. Whomever is working with him, should definitely teach him how to conduct himself when he does interviews-whether it’s for radio, tv, or print. Upcoming artists should always remember that the first impression is the lasting impression.

In my interview with Trinidad James, we spoke about being a “one hit wonder”, not looking up to rappers, how ‘Don’t Be S.A.F.E.‘ is an introduction of him, the biggest misconception about him, his longevity in music, what he doesn’t like about music industry, the “Jerome” copyright infringement lawsuit, and working with Adele. I tried to get Trinidad James about his thoughts on MTV’s Hottest MCs In The Game list but he didn’t want to answer. Listen to the interview and find out why, below.
