This was probably one of my favorite performances of the night,
As you know (I hope), last night was the 2013 BET Awards. The Awards were held in LA at the historic Nokia Theatre. All the stars were out, and shined on new artist Kendrick Lamar.
Since learning about Kendrick, he has been added to my personal list of “Favorite MC’s”. His dropping of good kid, m.A.A.d city, has put him on a platform that he used to dream of before making it. Last night, he proved why he is on that platform; winning the award for Best New Artist, shutting down the stage with his performance.
Kendrick Lamar performed a snippet of “M.A.A.D. City” and closed with an Erykah Badu rendition of “B**ch Don’t Kill My Vibe”. Everything about this performance was amazing. From the collaboration of Lamar and Badu, down to the set of the stage.
