Just before rocking back-to-back sold out shows at The Fillmore in Silver Spring, Md., ScHoolboy Q dropped by the 93.9 WKYS studios to speak with EZ Street and promote his tour and newly released ‘Oxymoron‘ album.

He talked about what sparked his transition from life on the streets to life in the studio but soon moved to his “brother” Kendrick Lamar and the infamous Grammy snub by Macklemore. Despite the upset, Q still gives Macklemore props for his win.

“Clap for him. You can’t be mad at it. This is the Grammys,” he said. “He wasn’t gonna win a BET award.”

He says that Macklemore deserved to take home some wins, but Kendrick should have gotten some too. Looking on the bright side of things, Q adds that Macklemore’s “Best Rap Album of the Year” win means that he technically won a Grammy as well since he’s on the record.

Watch the video to find out what else he had to say on the topic, his thoughts on LA rap and on why he capitalizes the H in his name.
