Calvin Cooksey, father of Frank Ocean, is suing Russell Simmons for $142 million dollars because he feels that his name has been slandered on Simmon’s Global Grind website. Mr. Cooksey feels that he has been portrayed as a “Dead Beat Dad” and “Horrible Father”. He credits Frank’s mother for hiding Frank from him and being a “Money Grubbing Mother”. Cooksey reportedly says that he has not been in Ocean’s life since the age of 5 years old because he wasn’t allowed to be a father.
Back in 2012 Ocean stated that Cooksey tried to sue him:
“Father wanna sue me for a million,” he wrote in tweets now deleted. “Like i owe him back child support. weak individual bought me a swiss knife at 6yrs old then dipped on me … i got his DNA though, maybe I inherited some of his karma too.”
Cooksey describes himself as a singer, writer, and inventor, and claims that due to the damaging inaccurate description of him, it will interfere with his career, which is why he is suing for “Future Loss of Income”
On a better note, Frank Ocean is currently finishing work on his new music project which will be the follow up to his 2012 album “Channel Orange”.
