According to The Newark Star-Ledger, the Newark Police Department confirmed being in the “early stages” of investigating a 21-year-old resident’s claim of being robbed by DMX and his associates. The man alleges he ran into DMX and his entourage around 12:30 am Sunday at a gas station near New Jersey’s Route 21. The Star-Ledger reports the following via NJ.com:

“The two had a brief conversation about rap music and during the conversation a male in DMX’s entourage, showed the victim a gun and demanded the victim’s money.”

According to Newark Police Spokesman Sgt. Ronald Glover, the accuser pulled out $3,200 in cash, which DMX allegedly took out of his hand before leaving in one of the four, black Cadillac Escalades driven by the entourage.

Late Saturday night, DMX concluded a show at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center alongside EPMD, Mobb Deep, Slick Rick, Big Daddy Kane, and Kid Capri as part of the Masters Of Ceremony Tour.

No arrests have been made, and neither DMX nor anyone affiliated with him has been formally charged with any crime. You can read the entire report at NJ.com.
