J.Cole 'What Dreams May Come' Tour - New York, NY

Black Friday just delivered the illest gifts from two of the illest rappers of 2015. J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar hopped on each other’s samples for some tag team freestyles, both named “Black Friday.” Cole glided over Kendrick’s “Alright” beat, reminding us of his major boss move this year: “I sold out the Garden/ I should play for the Knicks.”

Cole hints at new music in February before the track flatlines, giving fans hope for a follow up to his critically acclaimed 2014 Forest Hills Drive record.

K. dot returned the nod and floated over J. Cole’s anthemic “Tale of Two Cities,” the cut that had Cole’s “2014 Forest Hills Drive” tour on tilt all year. Kendrick also references the infamous Billboard “The 10 Greatest Rappers of All-Time” list, where he landed the ninth spot, but left out Tupac Shakur completely: “Oh Lord, gotta be the end/ Billboard list need Tupac, damn/ But #9 makes sure he lives on, yeah…”

When rappers can pay homage to each other with no beef, it’s so lit.

Check out both tracks below.
