Kylie Jenner continues to rake in the big bucks from her wildly successful lip kits, but one beauty blogger has discovered an identical option for a more reasonable price.
While reviewing the new formulation of Kylie’s liquid matte lipsticks in shade Candy K, Stephanie Nicole discovered that it’s essentially the same ingredients as ColourPop Cosmetics Ultra Matte Liquid Lipsticks. The only difference between the two appears to be the price.
“Every single thing that’s in these Kylie Jenner lip kits is in a ColourPop formula. The ColourPop just has a few more [ingredients]. You would think that the more expensive brand would have the extra products but, no,” Stephanie says in her review video.
This isn’t the first time these products have been compared. Last year, after speculation surfaced on Reddit that her Lip Kits were merely repurposed ColourPop products, Kylie shared an image with the ColourPop founders and wrote that the lipsticks “don’t have the same formula or exact colors.”
Still, after shipping and tax, Kylie’s Lip Kit will run you $40+, while ColourPop’s Ultra Matte Liquid Lipsticks are sold for $6 online. Not to mention, you can barely tell the difference between Kylie’s Candy K and ColourPop’s popular Dupe shade.
