Hot 107.9 Birthday Bash 2016

Future and Ciara met outside of Tricky Stewart’s recording studio, according to a new interview in Rolling Stone Magazine. The “F*ck Up Some Commas” rapper and ATL darling posed for a picture together and the rest was history.

While Future seemed to be head over heels in love with the “Promise” songstress, some of his friends thought she was “bougie as hell.” “Ciara, she didn’t even really like when people cursed,” one revealed.

Despite what his friends had to say, Ciara and Future got engaged then pregnant, and all seemed well until their sudden breakup.

“I was scared as shit,” the 32-year-old revealed in the candid interview. “I was one step away from being married, and I feel like I failed publicly in relationships. Then you want to go back to doing music, to what you know. And if the people didn’t accept you again, the one thing you feel like you can fall back on, it walked away from you. You feel like it’s over.”

Future then channeled his pain into his music, where he’d often referenced his failed relationship. He saw success “I can’t even think about it,” he said. “I never imagined my life would be like that: ‘I’m going to sue you and take away from you.’” So he retreated to the studio. “I don’t know how to deal with something like that,” he added.

The couple’s engagement ended on a sour note, but Future claims he wishes nothing but the best for Cici.

“Her being successful, her being happy, helps me,” the rapper says. Then he begins to address the 30-year-old singer directly, saying, “I’m attached to you. If you’re happy, I’m happy. You’re connected for life. I don’t want you to go through this shit and for it to come back on my son, my kid. I want you to be in the best situation.”

Since their breakup, the former couple has had their fair share of social media quarrels, including the time Future subliminally referred to her as a “controlling b*tch.” Ciara then refused to speak his name during the Billboard Award announcements, and the two sued one another for custody of their child, Future Jr. They recently dropped their suit and it seemed amicable.

While Ciara has found love and romance with football player and fiancé Russell Wilson, Future is married to his music while caring for his son and other children.

“It’s something that’ll take more time for me. It ain’t even about (Russell) playing daddy. I don’t even want to think about it. That’s my son forever. My son is going to be able to read this. He’s going to be able to look at those pictures. He’s going to be able to have a judgment for himself, and have a conversation with me man-to-man. That’s my blood. He is me. I am him. We is one.”
