Give it up. Idris Elba will not be playing James Bond.

The 42-year-old actor put the year of rumors to rest, during an interview to promote his new role in Star Trek Beyond. While on Good Morning America he cleared the air about all the James Bond talk.

“It is the wildest rumor in the world,” he said on Thursday. “Running around in cars and ladies and martinis, who wants to do that? Sounds terrible.” Adding, “I keep saying if it were to happen it would be the will of a nation because there haven’t been any talks between me and the studio about any of that.”

“But everywhere I go people want that to happen.”

People started talking about the Ghanaian-British taking on the role after Daniel Craig said he would not be reprising it again. While producer, Barbara Broccoli is currently working on other projects, sources say she’s hoping to convince Craig to change his mind for the next 007 film.

In addition to Star Trek, Elba will be in the third installment of Marvel’s Thor, called Thor: Ragnarok.
