First off – the future is female but we knew that already! 2018 gave us the rise of acts like Rico Nasty, City Girls, and I’m positive Megan Thee Stallion from Houston is going to make ‘em work for the title this year.

Closing out 2018 with her project entitled “Tina Snow”, Meg Thee Stallion proves that she can hold her own lyrically while giving perfect twerk/club records. With several freestyles that went viral, she’s not new to this and her talent is undeniable.

Hitting the stage here in the DMV for the WKYS Women’s Day celebration, Meg left the crowd begging for more and chanting “Megan, Megan” in her wake.

As a woman, I love when a female artist takes on the mainstream lane and says what’s on her mind. I don’t trap or move bricks out the bando but I still rap along with conviction. It feels good to have music that closer relates to me, no matter how raunchy or unconventional. There’s no one type of woman. It’s refreshing to be in space where we have women that are rapping about their confidence, how to not take no nonsense, whilst still being able to be a classy freak!

Megan Thee Stallion from personifies what it means to be an unapologetic, confident black woman, claiming her sexuality.

She said it in her interview best – “it’s not about the size of the freak, but the size of the freakiness in your heart”
