It is obvious that whoever is in charge of these awards knows NOTHING about teh true history of GOGO.
Not only are these some garbage but they are truly a joke.
The radio stations play so much garbage that GOGO is not looked upon in a positive light on a national basis with the exception of Chuck and EU!
That trash bangin noise makin yall play everynight is part of the reason Radio one is LOOSING MONEY and Listeners.
“DA PEOPLE” see right thru your bullshyt.
So keep it up and continue to SHOOT YOURSELF IN THE AZZ! LOL
DC RADIO SUCKS AND DOES NOT SUPPORT LOCA ARTISTS FOR REAL.
So Cathy Hughes needs to stop crying on her Reality radio segment about paying royalties to the artists.
As cruddy as this station is to local artists yall need to pay.

I know yall operate off of PAYOLA cause I have seen it done.
Heck I can call out names for real.

I bet Radio One won’t make half as much as they did last year off of The Go-Go Awards because everybody knows how rigged it is and then to close out the voting…man ya’ll look guilty!

What’s really jacked up is that I didn’t even know about the awards til last night! Radio One has done it again! Their lame attempt to throw some shiggidy together in a little bit of time. I hope they are reading these post cuz these awards seem pretty one sided. I’m a huge Mambo Sauce fan and was shocked to see that Mambo Sauce wasn’t anywhere in the categories, which goes to show that the hate is so real. Mambo has never even performed at these awards….I wonder why? (Stop…think about it) They are truly a positive band and their sound is just refreshing. I agree with many of the posters, this awards show is 100% BIAS. All the reason for the people to stand up and show their disgust by not paying a dollar to go to this BS. Protest this BS people. This is why the go-go community is so jacked up. There is no love!

It never ceases to amaze me that over and over the most successful Go-Go band in the history of the genre, according to Billboard Magazine, on a national level, is totally left out of the GO GO discussion. By far the band E.U.(Experience Unlimited)deserves to be included in all the Go Go Music Awards programs.

Although the band recently changed their name to “The NYC” (New Youth Coalition), mainly due to the name brand being exploited in the wrong manner, they should be respected for their global accomplishments.

I guess it wasn’t enough to be featured in a Spike Lee motion picture (School Daze), or be nominated for a Grammy, or to have (3) top Billboard hits (Da Butt #1, Buckwild #7, Taste of Your Love #2), or to actually have won a Soul Train Award for best new artist that year…

All I can say is that if you want to hear the “real” GO GO…the way it used to be put down… You need to listen out for their new “hits” Shake Da Snake, Livin a Dream, Hooked and the R&B Classic remake of Kool and the Gang’s Funky Stuff… By the way,the guy who wrote and produced the “hit” “Taste of Your Love” for the group handled the production single handedly.

Let me be the first to congratulate Sugar Bear, Tino, Junie, Ju Ju and Marvin for continuing to carry the GO Go torch around the globe… The E.P. is “burnin hot!” I hope they drop it for the holidays…especially that joint that favors the Kool and the gang classic Summer Madness…called “The Holidays.”

first of all b4 i begin i like to thank you for “TRYING” to give recognition to gogo…but the show is bias and its not being done for the real true meaning of “GOGO”….what do i mean??? what is the main ingredient of gogo?? the percussions…the instruments without that you’d just be a rapper or singer…man back in the GOOD ole days of gogo….they didnt rap or sing as much as they do nowadays…you had horns congos drums bass leads keyboard etc.. roll calling and playing music…. for the rappers and singers….where are the awards for theses men and women who really crank GOGO….its the same nominees everytime because its BIAS…Big G works @ 93.9 and one of the promoters of the awards show owns a stake in backyard…COME ON NOW YALL STOP PLAYIN….I’m sick and tired of Big G and D Floyd…every year…all the true gogo heads no the REAL…Oh by the way….I’ve been a fan of gogo since the collesium days…TRUST
