We hear that Paula Abdul is off the mega-hit reality competition show, American Idol. Should she stay or should she get the ax?
VIA MTV NEWS:
In a June appearance on “Late Show With David Letterman,” “American Idol” judge Paula Abdul said she was unsure whether she’d return to “Idol” now that her contract was up, but ultimately joked that such statements were simply a business strategy.
“It’s called ‘negotiating,’ ” she told the late-night host.
So what is it called when your manager tells a news outlet that you may not return to the talent competition? That’s what Abdul’s manager, David Sonenberg, did when he spoke with the Los Angeles Times Idol Tracker blog.
“Very sadly, it does not appear that she’s going to be back on ‘Idol,’ ” he said, revealing that he doesn’t have an offer from FremantleMedia and 19 Entertainment, the show’s production companies.
“I find it, under these circumstances, particularly unusual; I think unnecessarily hurtful,” Sonenberg continued. “I find it kind of unconscionable and certainly rude and disrespectful that they haven’t stepped up and said what they want to do.”
