KYSDC – 93.9 WKYS DC's Home for the Hip-Hop Community

In less than one year, broadcast personality Deja Perez, has worked in a variety of positions. She went on to work as a board operator, then became part of the promotions department, and finally hit the airwaves as an on-air personality! Her mercurial rise can be attributed to her dedication to excellence, combined with vibrant talent and a passionate drive to achieve. With a Latina mother and an African American father, this New Jersey native, the youngest of 6 children, celebrates her cultural diversity and believes that her family background has enabled her to realte to all people! In fact, Deja spent her freshman year of high school in El Salvador. A world traveler, she has broaden her perspective of the planet with extensive travels having visited Spain, Portugal, Morocco, Guatemala, Greece, Turkey, and her mother’s homeland of Puerto Rico.

Deja currently resides in the nation’s capitol, Washington, DC, where she commuted to Philadelphia each weekend to hold down an air shift at the celebrated Radio One hip-hop giant, 100.3 The Beat. During her tenure in Philly, the popular radio star was embraced by the city, particurlarly because of her strong commitment to eradicating domestic violence and working with juveniless. Diligent about her desire to help at risk youths, Ms. Perez obtained a degree in Criminal Justice from Temple University. A family oriented, per lover, Deja is back in DC on the air at 93.9 WKYS, where she will continue to communicatewith today’s youth, while having her finger on the pulse of contemporary culture.
