Low Income Students
The U.S. Department of Education is spending $28 million to help low-income students pay for Advanced Placement exams. Many of these students take college level courses but can't afford to pay for the exams.
A study presents a new comparative tool to evaluate national progress toward closing the socioeconomic achievement gap. It finds that most states are missing the mark, but also many successful cases.
