In case you’ve missed it: CNN has suspended contributor Roland Martin INDEFINITELY! The suspension comes after he sent anti-gay tweets during the Super Bowl game! CNN execs aren’t sure what to do with Martin but they’re bracing themselves for the backlash that may come from Black viewers.

CNN  issued this statement: “Roland Martin’s tweets were regrettable and offensive. Language that demeans is inconsistent with the values and culture of our organization, and is not tolerated. We have been giving careful consideration to this matter, and Roland will not be appearing on our air for the time being.”

Martin wrote on Monday night that he “sincerely regret any offense” the controversial tweets he wrote during the Super Bowl on Sunday had caused. But he was steadfast in his insistence that he had not been making any homophobic statements in the tweets, as gay rights groups have charged.

GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) called on CNN to fire him soon after he sent the tweets! Martin tweeted this to almost 95,000 followers and it set off a fire storm….

Since making the comments Martin has suggested his tweet regarding David Beckham was intended for soccer fans. But critics say this is an ongoing problem.

Let that be a lesson to everyone, Be careful what you say on these social networks. You have to be mindful of others! If not you may end up in the same predicament as Mr. Martin!
