How would you define your music?

My music represents my own perspective of life and people that surround my problems and situations. My music comes from the heart. Whatever type of way I’m feeling at the moment when I’m recording in the studio is the type of song it is going to be. It can be full of joy and happiness and at other times it could be just real life situations and emotions. I mainly write songs for the ladies, but I’m also a party person so I make ‘club banger’ type tracks.

Tell us about your background, some say you grew up in some type of royalty.

I grew up in the DC, Pg County area and moved around a lot when I was younger. I attended 5 different elementary schools growing up. It was very normal not to have a lot of friends but my video game was everything to me, even though I don’t have too much time for it now. I still like to play it on free time.

Royalty? I would say not really but if having parents that cared about their children and future and give you the support you need in life…then SURE: I would say I’m very rich. My father, even though “he is who he is,” it wasn’t an easy life. It never is. I go through the same problems or even more problems than most of the world would ever know. I was just around the music industry at a young age so I knew what it was like, and I knew that it wasn’t going to be easy to be in this profession. I was around artist and producers like Timbaland, Static Major, Aaliyah everyone in that time period that was close to my father. I was there in the studio to witness some of the most amazing hits that were created. As they say Baby Making Music. LOL

What are your influences? How do you get your inspirations?

My influences don’t really come from a music perspective. I really just want to make my grandparents proud. (RIP) I feel as though everything I do, they are watching me and if they were here, they would support me as much as they can. I would say I get a lot of my inspirations from my family and friends that are around me. I want to make a difference in the industry whether it is bringing a different sound or just helping others make it to the same goal I’m trying to accomplish.

Are you looking for an independent label deal or a major label deal? How are you hoping that will reach out to you?

I am looking at whoever is going to get behind the movement that I’m creating. Whoever has faith in my music and my abilities to be the greatest I could possibly be, whether it’s an independent label or major label, that’s where I want to be. I’m going to make the best out of my opportunities and go for whatever I feel is best. I wanna be somewhere where I can grow as an artist and a person because no one wants to be the same forever. Thats boring and boring is something that I don’t want to be.

What do you hope to accomplish throughout your career?

I hope to accomplish great success and make a difference in the world. I would also like to pursue an acting career. I’m looking for success and more success, nothing else. Fame and everything else is pointless if you can’t enjoy your life and feel as though you did something to make a change. I want to be the best Art-TEEST I can be, not only in Hiphop but in R&B and Pop as well.  Awards and lots of Awards! It’s Like “Wale” said, I’m just trying to be legendary!

What projects can we look for from you by closure of 2012?

I’m working on my mixtape which should be dropping in April. I’m working on a couple other mix tapes that are going to be dropping this year. Also I’m working on my album entitled The Greatest Adventure. I am a character too, hope to be doing a lot of shows around the states and overseas. Reality TV Show is a possibility still as well. So just expect to hear more out of me.

How long does it take you to write a song?

Honestly it doesn’t take me that long to write a song. I’m the type of guy that you throw the beat on and just let me hear it I can write any song. It normally takes me like an hour to an hour and a half to write it. I go over it and see if there are changes I can make and then I record.

Who would you like to work with?

I would like to work with Drake. He is just one of those artist that you have to respect. He doesn’t talk about the street life or anything just very talented guy. Big Sean, Wale, Chris Brown just to name a few. Honestly I would work with whoever is willing to make HOT FIYA music!
