Local rapper Fat Trel has this pedestrian line in a song, “The b—h might be a n—a, for realla, she Rah Digga.” That line was enough to bring Rah Digga out of rap retirement. I don’t know if she was really retired but I haven’t heard from her in years. She was pissed enough to respond with a diss track.

On called “N— In Me” Digga raps, “This guy, you barely got a meal short of fish fry / Think of letting this slide? / Fat Trel could kiss my global rap a– / He barely out of D.C., tried to look him up, he ain’t even got a Wiki.”

Fat Trel responded on Twitter saying: “S/O [shout-out] 2 DAT N—A RAH DIGGA!”…. and then retweeted the message “I didn’t even know rah digga was still alive”

It’s been such a long time since I heard anything from Rah Digga that when I heard that Fat Trel was dissed by Rah my mind went to local female rapper RatheMC not the former lead chick from the Outsidaz. But no it’s Rah Digga. She’s been dormant for years but she’s reportedly coming out with a new album and so I guess putting out a diss track towards two underground rappers (who are 20 years her junior) because they made unkind references to her perceived huskiness is the way back to relevancy.   Tyler the Creator kept wishing her a Happy Father’s Day repeatedly. She didn’t like that.

Rah Digga explained her reasons for the track:

“I didn’t make this record for press purposes or for hype cuz that’s not my thing,” she said. “I got wind of various artists referencin’ me in a negative fashion. They poked fun at me I’m just pokin back. Its all sport to me. I wish em all the best, they just need to understand who is off limits.MC Lyte is off limits. Rah Digga is off limits. Respect those who kept hip hop raw so that we could still have a culture or get a first hand lesson in a lyrical ass whoopin. Love is love.”
