Another cannibal-like attack has occurred and it took place outside of Florida and Maryland.

The Shreveport Times reports that 43-year-old Carl Jacquneaux bit off part of a man’s face during a domestic dispute in Lafayette Parish.

Jacquneaux’s alleged victim,Todd Credeur (pictured) says he was working in his yard when he was attacked.

He said he was shocked when Jacquneaux bit into his face. To stop the attack, Credeur sprayed Jacquneaux in the face with wasp spray. Police say that Jacquneaux left Credeur’s house and went to another acquaintance’s home in Carencro where “he held him at knife point and stole a hand gun.” Police arrested Jacquneaux at the Carencro location.

“Very unusual, it’s not something we see everyday,” Assistant Police Chief Kert Thomas of Scott in Lafayette Parish told The Times.

Here is more on face-biting attack:

That unusual behavior could be due to drugs. Sheriff’s deputies said Jacquneaux was clearly under the influence of some kind of drug. A friend of the victim said she believes he was using bath salts, a drug police said can cause a state of excited delirium and dangerous behavior.

“Extremely dangerous, a lot more dangerous than some of the drugs on the street,” explained Thomas.

But police said they may never know if Jacquneaux was under the influence of bath salts, because no blood tests were performed before he was booked into jail.

Jacquneaux has been “charged with aggravated burglary, simple battery of the infirm, violation of probation, aggravated second degree battery and violation of protective orders.”

He is being held in the Lafayette Parish Jail on $312,500 bond. Credeur was treated at a local hospital and is at home recovering from his injuries.
