This week’s featured artist is Kayleb.
Who are some of your musical influences? Has the DMV’s style of music influenced yours?
I would have to say Lupe Fiasco, Akon,Wiz Khalifa,Roscoe Dash, & Chris Brown. I also like artist that don’t restrict themselves to one genre. The DMV’s style of music influenced me a little i can say; but as an artist i don’t like to limit myself to one style. I’d rather take from all areas from whether it be from the westside or down south and perfect it into one style.
You write as well. How do you keep your creativity consistent in your songs?
I believe the key to being consistent is you have to write music with your heart everyday comes with a new feeling. To me music is an expression and emotion, when you express true feelings people can relate to you.
What have been your biggest accomplishments so far?
I would have to say having the opportunity to work with Hurricane chris and V.I.C and experiencing life on the road and connecting with different people and making fans that love my music.
How are you different other artists in the area?
You most definitely should expect high energy, & a different sound from track to track something for every mood of the day and just quality music.
What should we expect to hear on your debut EP, Split Personality?
What makes me different is that I bring my own originality and sound cause when you’re original that alone sets you apart from everyone else.
What is your ultimate career goal in music?
Just to inspire and influence someone else through my music and for me to be heard across the world.
