This week’s featured artist is Money Bagz.
Introduce yourself and describe your sound and lyrical content for anyone who hasn’t heard of you.
My Name Is Money Bagz, I’m An Artist From Northern Virginia. My Lyrical Content Is More Of A Hip Hop East Coast Feel. Im All About Real Lyrics And Versatility. I Was Born In Jamaica, Queens. I Started Making Music When I Was 10 Years Old. I Made A Name For Myself In The Area By Battling Different Artists And Consistently Dropping Mixtapes In School. Years Later, Im Still Staying Consistent And Still Working Hard For Success In The Music Industry.
Who are some of your musical influences?
In General, My Family, My Team, & My Struggles. I Do Like French Montana, 50 Cent, Jayz, Biggie And A Few Other Artist. But Just Seeing Where Those Artist I Named Started From To Where They Are At Now Is Definitely Motivation That You Got To Start From The Bottom To Get To The Top.
How are you different from other artists in the area?
My Style In Music Is Different, My Beat Selection, Versatility, Lyrics And My Grind! I Feel Like You Put Me In Front Of A Crowd Of 1,000+ People To Perform, They Gonna Vibe With Me And Remember Who Im By The End Of The Show. I Make Songs, I Stick To The Topic And The Same Time Deliver Catchy Lyrics.
Who is Money Gang Militia and how did it start?
Money Gang Militia Is A Indie Record Company Established In I Believe 08/09. I am The CEO As Well As An Artist. Money Gang Militia Consist Of 4 Main Artist, Myself, Mi$Tro, Daquon Da Don, J.Real And A Few Upcoming Artist On The Label As Well. It Started As A Vision, I Was Part Of Another Crew Who Wasn’t Giving Me The Proper Exposure That I Wanted At The Time, And I Felt I Was Better Then Them Musically. I Then Decided To Branch Off And Do My Own Thing And Be My Own Boss. A Few Months Later After Generating A Buzz For MGM, I Meet The Rest Of The Team, We All Had The Same Vision, Passion, And Goals As A Artist And Now Here We Are Today, Still Together, Making Our Dreams To Reality.
What has been your biggest break so far in music?
I Would Say The Release Of My Biggest Single Yet “Make It Swang” Produced By Jay Talent. When We Recorded The Song, I Began To Perform It At Every Show and The Crowd Always Rocked To It. The Crowd Knew The Words And I They Didn’t They Was Always Dancing. But I Feel Like That’s When My Name Really Got Out There More And I Got More Fans Because Everyone Liked The Song, It Was Catchy And It Was A Club Banger. I Haven’t Worked With Any Big Name Artist As Of Yet, But I Do Plan On Doing So, And Reaching Out To A Few Of The “Popular” Artist In The Area Just To Let It Be Known I Can Go Bar For Bar, Or Song For Song With Whoever. Just Don’t Sleep On Me!
What should we expect from your upcoming project “Signed & Sealed”?
You Can Expect Real Hip Hop. Life Situations. Everyday Struggles. A Real Good Vibe In General. That Feel Good Music. “Signed & Sealed” To Me Personally Is Like Album Material And It Shows The Growth Of Me As A Artist From Start Of My Career To The Things Im Going Through Now And Dealing With. I Worked On This Project For I Would Say A Year Now. I Believe Alot Of People Will Relate To It And Respect It Because What I Talk About On This Project Is Things You Hear About And See Everyday. The Ups & Down Of Life.
Any other upcoming projects?
As Of Right Now My Main Focus Is On “Signed & Sealed” , Getting It To The Right People And Making Sure It Gets Heard By The Masses, But Definitely Keep Your Eyes And Ears On Me & The Team. We Do have Upcoming Videos Being Released, Songs, And Eventually NewMixtapes As Well For The Continued Supporters, Fans Who Are Looking Forward To It.
