The 2013 inductees into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame were announced today.  A special congratulations to Quincy Jones, Donna Summer, and rap group Public Enemy.

Quincy Jones is a pioneer in the music industry.  He has worked with the late and the great of artists, and has also worked in the movie business as well.

Donna Summer, who died earlier this year, was a disco dancing queen.  Her music was popular during the Disco era.  Although she will not be able to accept her award, her legacy will continue to go on.

Public Enemy is one of the greatest rap groups of all time.  Rapping about what was going on in the neighborhoods they inhabited  and also political issues.  Public Enemy is not the first rap group in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame however; they follow Run DMC and the Beastie Boys.

Other inductees were Albert King, Randy Newman, Lou Adler, Rush, and Heart.

The 2013 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony will be held in Los Angeles, California, April 13, 2013.
