Hurricane Sandy came to the East Coast in late October, and caused major damage.  There was a loss power, homes, and sadly lives. Although Hurricane Sandy occurred nearly two months ago, survivors are still feeling pain from the damages.  The DMV lucked out on not being hit as hard as predicted, but New York, New Jersey, and other states weren’t as lucky.

New York and Jersey were both hit badly by the storm.  Streets and subways were flooded, and Jersey even lost the famous ‘New Jersey Boardwalk’.  Since the hurricane, efforts and fundraisers have been done to raise money, so that the people, states, and cities affected can get back to their regular lives.

Last night was no different.  GE, Chase, Time Warner Cable, and other companies, sponsored a concert that was given to help those hurt by Sandy.  The concert was held at Madison Square Garden, in New York, and streamed live.  Some of the artists that came out to support and preform were Alicia Keys, Kanye West, Chris Martin of Coldplay, Bruce Spingsteen, Chris Rock, Jimmy Fallon, and many others.  The proceeds that were raised last night, will go to the Robin Hood Relief Fund.

If you would like to give to the relief fund, you can purchase donation gifts for your Facebook friends, text $10 donations to 50555, or use check-ins to Foursquare and Get Glue.

Prayers and thoughts are still with those affected by Hurricane Sandy.  Hopefully there will be a speedy recovery for everyone.
