Happy Groundhog Day to you all!! Today marks the day that we all wonder whether we will see winter for six more weeks, or whether spring time will come soon.  Here’s a little history for you before I reveal your season fate.

The groundhog’s name, Punxsutawney Phil.  Since Phil’s first prediction in 1887, he has seen his shadow 100 times, there’s 16 instances where he saw nothing.  According to AccuWeather, Punxsutawney Phil has been correct 80% of the time (not bad for a groundhog).

With Groundhog Day being today (February 2, 2013), it was time for Phil to either give the people hope for spring, or let them deal with winter for another six weeks.  At this morning at 7:25 AM, Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania.  The results are in, and Phil…did NOT see his shadow!  Going by folklore, and tradition, this means that Spring time is on the way!

I am hoping that this is one of the instances where Phil is correct.  Lately, the DMV has been feeling freezing temperatures, and waking up to snow covered grounds.  Spring time coming soon is something that I am not opposed to.

Good look on not seeing your shadow Phil, I live for warm sunny days!
