In June, Vanderbilt suspended 5 of it’s players, Cory Batey, Brandon Banks, Jaborian McKenzie, Brandon Vandenburg and another player, on the account of a rape charge against an unconscious female in a dorm on campus. The 5 men were banned off campus on June 29.

The story thickens as more people get involved, apparently the case is possibly deeper because the suspects have had others tampering with the evidence. Chris Boyd, 21, turned himself in for his involvement with trying to help the suspects delete the evidence and fight the case. He was indicted this past Friday, August 16th.

Other than Vandy Football Players, two other men (from Californina) were indicted last week, MIles Finley and Joseph Quinzio, on accounts of tampering with evidence. The police feel as though more individuals could be involved and are working to get to the bottom of the case.

“We are looking at all persons who may have been involved in this event, before, during and after the fact,” Nashville Police Department Chief Steve Anderson said. “Additional charges cannot be ruled out.”

The story is still sketchy at this time but from several reports, the students went to a local bar and then went back to Vandenburg’s room. Speculations continue that Vandenburg proceeded to have sex with the woman and then encouraged his team mates to get involved as well.

Everyone but Vandenburg is out on bond, Vandenburg is being held for $350,000 and was a top recruit for the team.

We’ll be watching this case closely for you.
