With Oprah Winfrey backing the production, and an all star cast, it was a no brainer that Lee Daniels’ The Butler, would do well at the box office.
Over the weekend, several movies besides Lee Daniels The Butler were released. Going up against the story line of an African American butler who served in the White House was, We’re The Millers, Kick A$$ 2, and Elysium.
All three movies rounded the charts for the top 3 this weekend. Elysium, which is a sci-fi thriller, brought in 13.6 million, while We’re The Millers, starring Jennifer Aninston, Jason Sudeikis, brung in 17.78 million. Lee Daniels The Butler topped the box office charts at number one with 25 million!!!
Lee Daniels The Butler is a powerful movie that all walks of life need to see! The movie stars Forrest Whitaker, Oprah Winfrey, Terrence Howard, Cuba Gooding Jr., Mariah Carey, and many more amazing talent.
