Black NC Man Shot Dead Trying To Get Help From Police [VIDEO]

This is absolutely terrible. According to CNN, North Carolina police shot and killed a man running toward them Saturday morning. However, now they believe he was only trying to get their assistance as he had just been in a car accident.

Officers responded to a “breaking and entering” 911 call at a home in Charlotte, NC. The homeowner told 911 operators that a man had been knocking on her door repeatedly. Police say that when they got to the scene, a man matching the caller’s description ran toward them.

It’s still unclear as to why, but one of the officers fired his stun gun and missed hitting the the man. At that point, another officer opened fire, Jonathan Ferrell died at the scene. He was shot several times.

He was unarmed.

Police now believe Ferrell was seeking assistance after crashing his car.

At some point police have got to start seeing that African Americans are victims too. Until they find a way to view African American males and females as people who may potentially need their assistance just like anyone else, then this will happen again.

There is no reasoning away what happened. Not only had Ferrell been through a traumatic accident but in his last few moments of life he was afraid and in need of help. Thanks to Charlotte police his last moments were filled with pain and horror and oppressive deadly force. They treated him like a rabid dog that had gotten loose in the neighborhood instead of a human being in need of assistance. Truly unbelievable.
