Victor Page was a Georgetown legend and McKinley Tech Superstar in High School. He entered the 1997 NBA hoping to continue his properous basketball career but fell into a life of crime after being undrafted and spending 10 years in the Development League, damn that’s tough. Last month he was sentenced to 10 years in prison for a 2nd Degree Assault charge, & the Washington Times attempted to catch up with the once great NBA star.

From the Times:

Over the last three and a half years, Page has been charged with 33 crimes in Maryland and the District. He’s been found guilty of (or pleaded guilty to) six of them, including two second-degree assaults, a fourth-degree s-xual offense, unlawful entry, fourth-degree burglary and possession of m*rijuana. He’s violated probation repeatedly, had a $100,000 bond revoked and was ordered to a drug treatment program.

Page gave his earnest trial at the NBA but just could never find a team that could use him. Stay encouraged people! It’s hard to get up after being beaten down but I want you to pay attention to how important it is to continue to chase your dreams no matter who shuts you down, or how difficult it becomes. Had Page continued to chase his dream, he may be in a complete better situation. He may have ended up coaching youth and leading generations behind him into success. He may have achieved his dream of getting into the NBA, we may never know. All we know now is that he gave up and is now locked up. Let’s pray that when he gets released he gets his life together and allows his story to inspire success in someone.
