For those who tuned into Real Housewives of Atlanta on Sunday by now know that Kenya’s masquerade ball to honor Nene Leakes, was just a big mess. First off, you have the intended honoree, Nene Leakes, not being aware of the event. Then, you have money that was supposed to be raised for ‘Saving Our Daughters’, a charity that Leakes supports, making claims that the money was never sent.

Some will question if Nene’s attitude at the event was appropriate or not. To try and move past that, she did release an apology for her behavior at the event.

“I don’t have a lot I want to say, but I’ll start by saying I apologize for my behavior at the charity event. I definitely don’t want to teach young women that this is the proper way to respond when someone is trying to trick you into a situation and push your buttons. I would much rather teach young women to be aware of the wolves in sheep’s clothing.”

The real question that needs to be asked, is where is the thousands of dollars that was raised for the charity?

After getting complaints from other contributors from the bad light that was shed on ‘Housewives’, Saving Our Daughters were forced to release a statement on the foolishness. They also pointed out that the thousands of dollars that was raised for the charity has not yet showed up. Check out an excerpt below.

We were not aware of this and it appears that Mrs. Leakes wasn’t aware either. The light in which Saving Our Daughters was depicted was less than favorable. The organization received several calls from other supporters about our involvement in this event. They were extremely disappointed and felt that the organization was being taken advantage of. We go on record by stating that we at Saving our Daughters have never and will not ever be involved in any drive where the exact purpose is not clear, stated or held to with only approved changes. We would not ever jeopardize our continuing support from our friends by being a part of what appears to have been tainted from the start.

In closing, Ms. Kenya Moore stated that thousands of dollars were raised at this event. To protect the integrity of Saving Our Daughters, our records show that we did not receive any of the proceeds raised from Ms. Moore’s masquerade ball. However, we do appreciate the contribution we did receive of $500 for our annual Christmas doll drive for children with cancer.

Since S.O.D. has released their statement, Kenya Moore has released text messages to Saving Our Daughters CEO, Curtis Benajmin, to Blogger, B.Scott.

Kenya also sent over a copy of the check that was sent to S.O.D.

My question again, where is the thousands of dollars that were raised for the charity?!?!? If there was alot of money raised but the cost to put the event together had to come out that money, then that needs to be said. If not, it looks like some serious shady business is going on.

UPDATE:

Since Kenya posted the check and text to social media, S.O.D. have taken down their statement from their website. Also, according to the site, S.O.D.’s charity status have been revoked and they aren’t even legitimate anymore. Their status was revoked in May of 2013.
