Issa RaeLarry Wilmore — seasoned black sitcom writer and host of the great The Nightly Show — will have his hands on another television show. And this one is developed by a familiar name.

Issa Rae, best known as the creator of The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl, will be handing a series for HBO called Insecure. HBO announced it was developing a series with Rae back in Aug. 2013, but today (Feb. 4), they’ve made an official pilot order.

One could hope that maybe Rae and Wilmore switches the concept up a little. The original premise makes it sound like Awkward Black Girl, but with a new title: “the awkward experiences and racy tribulations of a modern day African-American woman.”

Even if the basic plot stays the same, the fact is that Wilmore and Rae are involved. So Insecure should be a treat, but it probably won’t premiere until at least 2015.

Rae is also releasing a new book — titled The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl, of course — next Tuesday (Feb. 10)
