Not only are we looking forward to crisp weather, Pumpkin spice lattes and over sized jackets and sweaters, we’re also extremely excited for the return of some of our favorite fall television shows. From Black-ish to Empire, we’ll be glued to the television set with a glass of wine in hand, Olivia Pope style.

Season Premiere: Wednesday, September 23 at 9:30 p.m. on ABC
Our favorite comedic family returns for season 2 of Black-ish this fall as Dre Johnson (Anthony Anderson) continues to try to help his family embrace their “blackness” while living in white suburbia. The upcoming season will further push the envelop and will even feature an episode that addresses the use of the “N-word”. It’s also reported that actress Zendaya will make a guest appearance this season as well.
Season Premiere: Wednesday, September 23 at 8 p.m. on FOX
Morris Chestnut stars as Dr. Beaumont Rosewood Junior in this FOX original that focuses on a private pathologist in Miami whose autopsies uncover clues the Miami PD often miss. He teams up with bada** detective Annalise Villa (Jaina Lee Ortiz, The After), who gives him the nickname “Rosie,” and they tackle Miami’s crime scene together.
Season Premiere: September 23 at 9 p.m. on FOX
Empire is the most anticipated TV series return this fall. The last we checked, Lucious was being whisked off to jail while the rest of the family struggled to save face in the public eye. Like the first season, the second season will feature a plethora of guest stars including Ludacris, Kelly Rowland, Chris Rock, Lenny Kravitz, Alicia Keys and more.
Premiere Date: Thursday, September 24 at 9 p.m. on ABC
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, Scandal needs no introduction or explanation. The second hour of Shonda Rhimes TGIT is dedicated to Olivia Pope, her love affair with President Fitz (and sometimes Jake), her team of gladiators, and her dysfunctional relationship with her parents. The fifth season of this political drama will take us deeper into Fitz and Olivia’s romance and reveal more of Eli Pope’s secrets. It’s also reported that Mia Maestro has a major recurring role this season, but Shonda has been careful to keep her character top secret. We’ll just have to tune into TGIT to find out!
Season Premiere: Thursday, September 24 at 8 p.m. on ABC
The upcoming season of Grey’s Anatomy is said to be all about reinvention, as new characters will be introduced and Callie and Arizona will find new love interests. The 12th season of America’s most popular medial drama will also explore Callie’s bisexuality while Amelia attempts to redefine herself and Meredith Grey moves on from her husband’s death.
How to Get Away with Murder
Season Premiere: Thursday, September 24 at 10 p.m. on ABC
TGIT continues with How to Get Away with Murder, closing out the biggest television premiere night of the fall. Since Lila Standard’s killer was finally revealed last season, we’re now left wondering who killed Rebecca? With so many questions to be answered this season, Thursdays are sure to become our favorite day of the week, again!
Season Premiere: Monday, September 21 at 9 p.m. on FOX
Minority Report is based on the Steven Spielberg’s sci-fi thriller starring Tom Cruise. Set eleven years after the film, the TV series follows Detective Lara Vega (Meagan Good) and Pre-Cog Dash and Arthur (Stark Sands) as they attempt to fight crime before it happens.
Premiere Date: Sunday, October 11, at 9 p.m. on AMC
If zombie apocalypses are your thing, The Walking Dead is perfect for your fall television line up. “The Walking Dead” is back for its sixth season this fall and is said to feature a major plot twist from Robert Kirkman’s comic book along with a few shocking deaths.
Season Premiere: Tuesday, September 22 at 9 p.m. on FOX
College life meets American Horror Story in FOX’s Scream Queens. Starring the original scream queen Jamie Lee Curtis, hottie Nick Jonas and our favorite girl next door KeKe Palmer, the horror-comedy series focuses on a series of crimes “after a 1995 sorority pledge gone wrong.”
The Jacksons: Next Generation
Air Date: Friday, October 2, at 10 p.m. on Lifetime
Lifetime has a new reality show in the works but this time will follow the second generation of the world’s most famous family. The Jacksons: Next Generation centers around the sons of Tito Jackson (Michael Jackson’s brother) as they embark on their own career and step away from their father’s shadow. Watch Taj, Taryll and TJ juggle their career and personal lives when The Jacksons: Next Generation airs this October.
The Wiz Live!
Air Date: Thursday, December 3 at 8 p.m. on NBC
Following the success of NBC’s live performance of Peter Pan, the network is trying their hand at producing another live musical based on the The Wizard of Oz. The Wiz Live! premieres on NBC this December, just in time for the holiday season. This version has newly written material by Harvey Fierstein and features an all star cast including Queen Latifah as The Wiz and Mary J Blige as the Wicked Witch of the West. “The Wiz Live!” is the first NBC production to be done in collaboration with Cirque Du Soleil, and is said to feature acrobatics in key scenes such as the flying monkeys and of course the tornado.
