Jay Z also says there will be an event in Brooklyn to celebrate TIDAL hitting 1 million people.

Jay Z’s TIDAL streaming service now has 1 million people, according to a tweet from the Brooklyn, New York artist. He did not specify if he means users, paid subscribers or something else.

The Roc Nation businessman also said in his tweet that there will be a celebration on October 20 to honor the achievement.

TIDAL launched March 30 as an artist-driven platform that offers hi-fi audio and exclusive content. In addition to Jay Z, Beyonce, Rihanna, Coldplay, Alicia Keys, Calvin Harris, Jack White, Madonna and Usher are among the reported equity artists-owners involved with TIDAL.

In April, CEO Andy Chen left the company. That move was followed by the departures of Zena Burns, TIDAL’s project leader who dealt with label and artist relations, and Jeff Geisler, Roc Nation’s Chief Marketing Officer.
