Civil rights activist Ozell Sutton has died at the age of 90.
Ozell passed away on Sunday in Atlanta, nearly a week after celebrating his last birthday, his daughter told the Associated Press.
The activist had a long history of fighting for equal rights that saw him at the epicenter of some of the movements biggest moments. He was in Selma marching with Dr. Martin Luther King, and he was at there at the Memphis hotel where MLK was assassinated.
There’s word yet on funeral arrangements or plans for a memorial
