On March 2, Detroit police executed a search warrant on the home of Ryon Travis‘ on the suspicion that he had stolen someone’s identity and charged over $50K in illegal purchases.

Police found two cell phones that included child pornography. Allegedly, Travis had explicit images of one of his young children on the phone (he’s the father of seven).

A second search of Travis’ home took place on March 21st and according to NY Daily News officers found: a 25-year-old woman chained by her neck with a padlock to a stripper pole.

The woman told police she lived with Travis and his lovers for two years, during which he forced several women to have sex for money and advertised his sex service online.

The woman said Travis abused the women if they refused to provide sex services to clients. She said she had been chained up for about two weeks because she tried to escape.

Travis, 32, has pled not guilty to the charges of sex trafficking, collecting and producing child porn. He was denied bond by a judge that was perplexed by his careless actions.

“I don’t understand how you could have been present at a search in your home on March 2 where you know that phones were taken and were going to be searched, and by the 21st, you have chained a woman against her will, in your home, knowing that agents were looking at you,” said Magistrate Judge Mona Majzoub.“That makes no sense.”

He faces up to thirty years in prison if convicted. Prior to his most recent arrest, Travis was previously charged with assault, resisting arrest and violating probation.
