Artist Joey Fatts drops controversial video titled “FARRAKHAN” feat. Vince Staples on World Star Hip Hop. It seems that the conscious are passing the rising up and speaking through music like our elders and ancestors did. In the 50’s and 60’s, during the Civil Rights movement, music, radio shows and concerts was used to deliver messages to the people that needed to know what the next steps for progress would be. Knowing those against them would not be attend these events or listen to the music gave the perfect path to get information out.
In the late 80’s early 90’s, artists like Queen Latifah, MC Lyte, Arrested Development, Poor Righteous Teachers, Public Enemy and KRS-One just to name a few, uplifted the community through Hip-Hop. This may still be true today. I am not sure but we shall see as more artist express views.
