After a year long investigation of the Baltimore City Police Department, the Department of Justice has released a 163 page report documenting a massive abuse of power and obvious discrimination dating back to 2010.  Please read, share and discuss these very descriptive and detailed examples of people in poor neighborhoods who are receiving poor treatment by the officers hired to serve and protect them.  Although no officers were charged in the death of Freddie Grey, his story spawned this investigation which will expose a lot of people as well as practices thereby forcing accountability and change that begins at the top.  There is a sense of optimism by community leaders and officials after the release of the report.  What I find interesting, is how the Baltimore police appear to frequently stop, search, and harass citizens, and yet there is no significant decrease in violence, drug dealing, drug abuse, or increased sense of safety.  Perhaps there should be a shift on who exactly they are policing.
