The holiday season is upon us, and what better way to enjoy it than spending quality time with your loved ones? However, these days, it’s difficult to bask in the full merriment and glee of the end of the year when technology is a huge distraction. With cell phones, iPads, and television, there’s no way you can listen to your grandparents tell the classic story of how they met for the hundredth time without getting sidetracked.

But don’t worry about missing your favorite shows if you opt for a technology-free holiday this year. XFINITY On Demand has your back, recording all the shows you love while you help your mom in the kitchen. Check out our list of technology-free activities you can do with your family this winter:

Charades

A classic game of charades is always an instant go-to.

Cooking

Take your precious tech-free time to learn your granny’s classic pie recipe. It’ll definitely come in handy more than your favorite reality TV drama.

Scavenger Hunt

Set up a Christmas scavenger hunt for your family to win fun prizes. Example: Make a list of about 50 holiday-inspired things and each participant has to take a photo of the things on the list, gaining one point each. Keep the stakes exciting, like the team with the least points has to do all the dishes.

Gingerbread Houses

Try this old-fashioned activity with the young ones and add a new-age kick to it.

Snow Fun

If you happen to live in a place where it snows during the holidays, go outside and enjoy the winter wonderland. From making snowmen to sledding, the possibilities are endless.

Caroling

Need some musical entertainment? A family sing-along at home or door-to-door caroling is the perfect remedy.

Homemade Ornaments

Instead of spending money and time buying a bunch of ornaments for the Christmas tree, start a new tradition of making a few of them at home. The kids will definitely enjoy it.

Charity

The most fulfilling, technology-free thing to do this season and every season is to give back. Take the entire family to a local toy drive or shelter of your choice and make someone else’s season bright!

Happy tech-free holidays!
