Barack and Michelle Obama’s official portraits were unveiled at the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery today.
It is considered a rite of passage for former Presidents and this one was one of the most anticipated reveal to date. President Obama’s portrait was painted by New York-based artist Kehinde Wiley. The first African American painter to have his painting featured in the National Portrait Gallery.
