The Rewind

DJ Franchise and Landon Levarius are back again with yet another episode of Global Grind’s The Rewind. Like we always do at this time, we are breaking down all of the topics over the last week and giving our take in a raw and uncut way.

First, Franchise and Landon get into The Oath, the new film starring Tiffany Haddish and Ike Barinholtz. Ike Barinholtz also wrote and directed the film about a controversial oath to the president that everyone must sign on Black Friday, which causes nothing but a hot mess of chaos and violence during Thanksgiving dinner at Kai (Haddish) and Chris’s (Barinholtz) house.  The storyline seems interesting (to say the least) and DJ Franchise and Landon get into whether or not they were truly feeling the film.

And speaking of films, Franchise and Landon weigh in on the subject of Venom, which has been met with a ton of mixed reviews. Some people thought it was cool and others hated it. It did $205 million worldwide so loved it or hated it, at least you saw it. DJ  Franchise, a comic book aficionado had a few critiques on the film and shares what he feels could have been done differently. Landon Levarius, on the other hand, enjoyed the film for the most part and feel that those who don’t know anything about the story of Venom may feel the same.  How does Venom stack up against other superhero movies, though? Landon Levarius and DJ Franchise give their rating.

Next up, we talk new music with Atlanta’s trap music legends T.I. and Jeezy. The two collab’d on a new track titled “More & More” and obviously it had fans wanting just that — more! However, Franchise and Landon come to a disagreement about the track and where it should rank for the week. Was it hot or was it not? Do these two legends live up to the hype? Find out on this week’s episode of The Rewind! Watch it above.
