Taraji P. Henson has no problem at all expressing how her roots at Howard University are a major part of what got her to where she is now in her career.

“Education is important, you gotta think about it as Black people we could’ve died for reading a book. Why?!”

In her new film, The Best of Enemies, which showcases the battle Ann Atwaters endured in order to get her children and other Black children the right to learn. Taraji said it was an honor to know that Ann was excited that she would be playing her in the film. Unfortunately Ann has passed away and wasn’t able to see the final product but we are sure she would be very proud of how everything came out.
