The women, comprised of a mostly African-American book club, were traveling on the train and discussing a romance novel when a train employee told them they were offending other passengers with their noise level. The women were then escorted off the train to awaiting police.

The 11 women, 10 African-American and one white, originally sued for $11 million, but have settled for an undisclosed amount.

Others claim they were also kicked off the flight because they defended the Black passenger. The airline, however, called the group "disruptive."
