From The Sound Live:

Waka Flocka has one of the strongest fan base in the Hip Hop community and this story is clear evidence of that. Dianne D, a once married woman, has become an avid fan of Waka Flocka due to his great online presence. Dianne’s husband (ex) was not a fan at all of Flocka or even the art of rap in general. Dianne tweeted Flocka and he retweeted it as well as followed her. His interaction with her, sent her in a frenzy and made her feel as though she absolutely had to be in attendance at Waka’s show in town.

Her husband was not feeling that idea and told his wife that she was not allowed to attend that concert.,  ”There was no way I could have missed that concert, I had to go,” she told TheGrio in a phone interview Tuesday (June 11) morning. “It was a defining moment in our marriage. I had been giving more than I was taking and this was one thing I did not want to compromise on. I just wanted to go to a rap concert.”

Needless to say Dianne chose Waka over her husband citing the useless relationship as the reason why:

“In attempting to learn more about Twitter, I found musicians were doing a better job of social media promotion than most social media experts. I blogged about two rap artists who got social media right, Waka being one of them. He retweeted my post and graciously followed me on Twitter when I asked.

This truly changed my life. As I learned more about Waka (and the entire Brick Squad Monopoly back in touch with my musical roots and interests, and began expanding my follows to include more rap and hip hop artists than social media experts.”

My ex NEVER liked rap, my interest in rap & rap artists, or my blogging about rap. When I knew Waka was coming to Ft. Lauderdale, my husband basically said he wouldn’t prevent me from going (as if) but he didn’t want me to go. When I didn’t immediately agree not to go, things got worse. He basically implied that (and I’m paraphrasing) ‘many Black men would be putting their bodies in close proximity to mine.’ Also, ‘since I was so enamored of Waka, if Waka asked, I might go out clubbing with him and end up doing something I’d regret.”

Well, clearly her husband is a grade A racist but in the end, Dianne united with Waka taking photos as well as getting autographs. She says that she is attractive for her age (53) but doesn’t care about her attractiveness because she knows that her and Waka were destined to club together.

She’s happy but surely, she will be back with her ex husband.
