Who would have thought!?

The Associated Press reports, that The National Cathedral in Washington, D.C., will now preform marriage ceremonies for same sex couples.  This news was announced this morning.

Cathedral Officials said, that they will be among the first Episcopal congregations to preform the marriages.  This is definitely a landmark in history because The Washington National Cathedral is a prominent church in Washington, D.C., and in the nation.  Ceremonies such as the funerals of Ronald Reagan and Gerald Ford have been held there.

Reverend Gary Hall, who is also the dean of the Cathedral, refers the church to “the next step for marriage equality.”  He also feels that including gays and lesbians, will be faithful to the type of community that Jesus wants mankind to live in.
