From this point forward when I think of Honey Nut Cheerios, I will never think of those sweet circle O’s in a bowl of milk. Instead, I will think of the phrase that cost my favorite Basketball player and fellow Baltimore, Carmelo Anthony a suspension.

(2:00 mark)

Earlier this week, Carmelo and Kevin Garnet got into an heated exchange of words on the court, allegedly after Garnett told Melo that his wife taste like “honey nut cheerios”. According to reports, the exchange of words continued inside the tunnel, which also led to Melo waiting for KG outside his Celtic’s team bus (video below). Due to his actions, Melo has been suspended!

Get informed with the details, after the jump!

Carmelo Anthony allowed the Baltimore to come out of him, and has been suspend for one game without pay. According to the NBA, it will be today’s game against The Pacers.

NBA EVP of Basketball Operations commented on his suspension. “There are no circumstances in which it is acceptable for a player to confront an opponent after a game. Carmelo Anthony attempted to engage with Kevin Garnett multiple times after Monday’s game and therefore a suspension was warranted.”

Since then, Melo and KG have reportedly “worked” things out.

There’s certain things that you just don’t say to men, another man. I felt like we crossed a line, but like I said, we both have an understanding right now, we handled it the way we handled it. Nobody needs to know what was said behind closed doors, so that situation was handled.”

I wanted to talk to KG [outside his bus]. I think it was something we both needed to get off our chest and see what really the problem was. No altercations, it was just some words and a conversation that we needed to have.”

It’s over with for me. Whatever happened last night, happened. The words that was being said between me and Garnett, it happened, can’t take that away. I lost my cool yesterday, I accept that, but there’s just certain things that push certain people’s buttons.”
