Martini’s Restaurant & Lounge is sponsoring a “Mike Epps Live Comedy Competition,” at Martini’s for a total of three weeks, beginning Tuesday, January 29, February 5, and ending on February 12, 2013. Contest open to Washington D.C., Maryland, & Virginia residents 21 years of age and older. No purchase necessary to win. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. One Grand Prize winner will be selected on February 12, 2013. The Grand Prize winner will have the most overall votes from three judges along with audience.
How to Enter: Beginning January 15, listeners may come to Martini’s Restaurant & Lounge 725 Cady Dr. Fort Washington, Md. 20744 301-248-7250, between 6:00pm to 2:00am, and register for the competition. Entrants may bring head shots, bios, & video clips as well. Entries will be selected at random for each competition. Contestants will be notified of the date that they are selected to compete.
Grand Prize (one winner)
The Grand Prize winner will have the opportunity to perform as the opening act for the Mike Epps Comedy show at Constitution Hall February 15, 2013. There is no prize money value for this competition.
Methodology: Up to five contestants will be randomly selected to compete each week. Two finalists will be selected each week by a 3 panel judge & the audience vote to move on to the final round on February 12. At the end of the final round, voters will have an opportunity to vote for their favorite finalist from all three weeks to win the grand prize.
Voting: Voting will take place each week after the last comedian. The comedians will be judged on a scale of 1 to 5 point system. The comedian will then have the option to ask for the audience help to add an additional point to their total score. Based on the audience response the comedian will receive 1 point or lose 1 point based on the audience response. On February 12, the top contestant from each week will compete for the grand prize. The comedian with the most points will win. Audience response each week is crucial; each comedian can enhance their chances by bringing supporters.
Odds of Winning: Odds of winning are based on the number of points received through
the voting process. Employees of Martini’s, participating prize sponsors, and their respective advertising agencies and subsidiaries, and immediate families of each are not eligible to enter. Prizes are nontransferable and no substitute prize or cash equivalent will be awarded.
General: All decisions of Martini’s are final, and shall be binding in all respects. Entry into this contest constitutes permission to use the name or likeness of each prize winner for advertising, trade, and publicity purposes without prior approval and without additional compensation. Additionally, listeners who opt-in acknowledge and give Martini’s permission to share their sponsors.
