Lauryn Hill 38 has turned herself into jail for tax evasion. The singer gets no mercy, she is has been sentenced to three months in jail for failing to pay her taxes on over $1 million earnings between the years of 2005 and 2007.
The Grammy award winning singer Lauryn Hill did pled guilty to three counts of tax evasion. Hill tried pleading her case by explaining due to dropping out the music industry, she was not able but wanted to pay her taxes. She further stated “I needed to be able to earn so I could pay my taxes, without compromising the health and welfare of my children, and I was being denied that.”
Before Hill’s turned herself into jail her lawyer stated she had paid more than $970,000 towards her debt but unfortunately it did her no justice.
Hill turned herself into the federal prison in Connecticut today Monday, July 8th and it is also reported she will not be isolated from the general population… she gone be with them!
