If the ladies want a youngin’ that can sing, is charming, and tatted like the subway in Harlem, then August Alsina is your guy. The New Orleans native has made it out of the rough streets, that at one time killed his best friend and brother, to focus on another part of life. He used the loss of his family members as motivation from instead of chasing the streets to chasing his dreams of making music. Now at 21, the newest signee to Def Jam has a number one hit on his hand and isn’t allowing the accolade to go to his head. He’s focused on, “what’s next?”
Over the weekend, August Alsina was in town to perform at ‘Love’. Prior to his performance, August and I rapped about his chart topping ‘I Luv This’, advice that The Dream gave him, his love of “ghetto” girls, dropping out of highschool, and working with getting that R&B “stamp” from Chris Brown and Trey Songz.
